Infrared Thermography

Infrared Thermography

Infrared Thermography may save you thousands of dollars by using state of the art Infrared Thermography and Analysis Methods. Variations in temperature can show – among many other things – if an electrical connection is loose or corroded and if a transformer has blocked cooling fins. It can also discover missing refractory brick and insulation in thermal oxidation chambers, kilns and dryers. Infrared Thermography is a non-contact testing method that allows the customer to continue running while determining if there is a “heat related” problem.

Malloy’s Technical Services Department has certified technicians that understand emissivity, heat reflection readings and “false high temp” findings. Once discovered and eliminated, the customer will be allowed to concentrate on the real problems at hand! Infrared Thermography is recognized by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as a necessary preventative maintenance for your electrical distribution systems. Regular infrared inspections help prevent electrical fires and catastrophic failures that endanger people, productivity, materials and machines.

Problems can be identified in different types of equipment such as:

  • Bearings
  • Breakers
  • Bus/Wire Connections
  • Fuse Holders
  • Motors
  • Switchgear
  • Transformers

By identifying and correcting these issues, we will save you money and increase reliability!
