Laser Shaft Alignment
Precision alignment has been proven to prolong the life of bearings in electric motors and the equipment they drive. Good alignment decreases mechanical wear on bearings and seals, and cuts down on overall vibration. Properly aligned equipment decreases energy costs by reducing power consumption, which continually lowers electric utility costs throughout the useful life cycle of the machine.
Laser alignment uses visible beams to acquire critical measurements of a motor position relative to the position of another machine. Our double reverse indication process uses precision lasers in place of dial indicators. Along with built-in, soft foot detection – to allow for proper diagnosis of your systems – lasers are attached to each shaft and a handheld computer to tell our technicians exactly how much correction is needed. Malloy’s technical services group will come to the business site and use these methods to precisely align motors, compressors, fans and various other drive equipment throughout several industries.
