Their main capabilities were in the Motor Repair Shop and Electric Construction Shop. They built a new shop at 16th and Cliff Avenue in Sioux Falls in the early 1960’s. Malloy employed about 6 people then.

On March 1,1971, Garry and Dianne Jacobson purchased Malloy Electric. They built a new facility at 809 West Russell Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and moved in 1974. The sales area was expanded to incorporate the retail sales of motors, electrical equipment, and power transmission equipment. The Machine Shop was added in October of 1978.

A branch facility, located in Sioux City, Iowa was incorporated to the Malloy family in February of 1986. In December of 1986, an Electronic Shop was added to both facilities.
