Malloy Electric breaks ground on new Cedar Rapids facility, completes major Mandan expansion
Sioux Falls, SD (November 11, 2025) – Malloy Electric breaks ground on a massive 200,000 square-foot motor facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, marking the company's latest investment in expanded service capabilities for industrial customers across the region. The new facility, scheduled for completion in mid-2026, will feature a 60-ton crane system and comprehensive motor services up to 20,000 HP.

The Cedar Rapids groundbreaking comes as Malloy completes a significant expansion at its Mandan, North Dakota, location. The Mandan facility now operates a 45-ton crane system and has commissioned both a vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) system and a CAM undercutter, supporting customers in the oil, gas, and mining industries. A Laser Clad system has been ordered for the location, scheduled for commissioning in mid-2026.
The dual expansions strengthen Malloy's regional presence and capacity to deliver on its "We service what we sell" philosophy. The investments ensure industrial customers have access to state-of-the-art repair capabilities and the technical expertise needed to minimize downtime.
